Citizenship question-lost job before 180 days (AC21) of i-485 applied date

This is an interesting discussion. Would there be any issues if one never worked for the employer that sponsored their green card? The employer sponsored and processed the green card while we were overseas, we got it processed at a consulate.

There was full intent to join the employer during that process, but after we got the green card, things changed and by the time we moved to the US (about 5 months after getting PR status, we had to sell our house, arrange for kids schooling etc.), the employer could not offer the original terms (especially location). We then took up other employment.

It has been 6+ years since we got our green card.

Are there any issues likely when we apply for citizenship? Forms almost complete :).

The issue is only possible in theory. It is almost certain that it does not matters in real life. The chance of the risk is much smaller than other mishaps in life. So it is not worth worrying about it before you worry about
something else
