Citizenship Processing Time !

Could anyone who is in the same boat as me suggest how long does it take to process an Application, from Application to Oath Time Frame, I heard they made it faster to process it in 9 months dont know how true it is, mine is filed in September 1st Week. Pls Share ur invaluable Experiences. Thx in Adv.
 
I applied in May 2005, received my first notice in June 2005.
My test was on December 1, 2005.
The Oath is scheduled for later this month.

I applied for Citizenship on March 7, 2006. My file was transffered to local office to schedule a test and oath (according to on-line status) on May 2, 2006. Let see how long actually it takes the local office to send me inviation for test :)

ANy experince how long it takes to schedule once it's in local office and how is Scarboroguh Office
 
I understand following time lines for citizenship application from CIC call center.

Toronto – 6 months
Calgary – 20 months
Edmonton – 12 months

I live in Calgary and meet all criteria for citizenship.
My question are
1. Can I apply from Toronto?
2. If so, what is leagal way of doing it? I am ready to incur some additional expenses too.
3. If not, what is the illegality?

-- Why not? You can apply from anywhere in Canada. But to get your application processed from Toronto (if that's what you want), you will have to live there at least temporarily.

-- Just mail your application to the CPC from any postal outlet. The communication from the CPC will be at your Toronto address. If you talk about readiness to incur expense: Move temporarily to Toronto and start living there till your application gets processed.

-- To get the processing from Toronto, you will have to give Toronto address as your residential address. And if you are not living there at all, that would be considered as lying.
 
My application from Toronto was received by Sydney processing center on August 28, 2007....

No information from them yet....well, I'll give them some time. 'tis been only a week

Tik, tak, tik, tak.....

I sent my application on 25-June-2007
1. Received acknowledgment first week of August.
2. 25-Sept-2007, it says that, Processing, and application is sent to Local office (Edmonton).

Anybody has the details of Edmonton office. How long they are taking to respond for test and oath etc.

It seems that the trend is 6 months now across the country. The CIC has invested a lot of money in 2007 to expedite the process.

What is the latest processing time in Saskatoon and Winnipeg? I'm in the process of moving to one of those two cities. Thank you.
