After attending a very pleasant oath ceremony this morning in Detroit, I officially became a United States Citizen :) The judge was a wonderful person who greeted each and every new citizen personally and delivered a very touching welcome speech. Kudos to such officials! In all, it was a great experience and a very happy moment but with mixed feelings. On one hand, I was happy on becoming US citizen but on other hand poignant on losing allegiance with land of birth.

I personally thank to this site, to the host Rajiv and to every dedicated and sincere contributors to this site. I have been a regular on this site way back from my I-140 days and it would have definitely be a challenge to get through this journey without the valuables inputs/experiences that came from all of you.

I wish you all good luck and thank you all.

Here are the milestones in my N-400 journey:

RD: 6/02/08
FP: 6/25/08
Int Letter: 7/25/08
Int: 9/17/08 N-652 recd with Passed/Approved
Oath Letter: 9/29/08
Oath: 10/2/08 Completed Cert Recd

Yeah - It took exact four months for the entire process, just in time for voter registration.
