Citizenship oath ceremony in Phoenix

My husband and I had our interview in Phoenix on January 9th. We were told that the oath ceremony maybe a few months later as the Phoenix office is still processing January 2005 citizenship applications. Our priority date is late May 2005. Can anyone let us know if there is a relation between the oath ceremony and the processing dates. Our timeline is the following:

DO: Phoenix, AZ
PD - May 26,2005
Fingerprint - July 5, 2005
Interview - January 9, 2006

Thanks and we appreciate your assistance in this matter

Oath ceremony in Phoenix

We just got our notice for the Oath ceremony to be held on February 17th.
The total timeline for us was 9 months here in Phoenix.

Phoenix Timeline

Congratulations SR57 and thanks for posting your timeline.

Anybody else from the Phoenix area, could you please share your N-400 timeline. The following is my timeline:

N-400 Mailed : Dec. 14, 2005
N-400 PD : Dec. 16, 2005
Fingerprint Date : Jan. 24, 2005
Interview Date : ???????
Oath Date : ????????

The interview was about 15-20 minutes. The officer checked the paperwork, asked me to write a sentence in English and then asked 10 civics questions. They were all questions from the US Citizenship test. My husband's interview was also about 20 minutes long. We both passed and we were told we will be notified by mail about our oath cermony. We received our notices on the 1st of February (our interviews were on January 9th). Our oath ceremony is on the 17th of February. From what we hear, Phoenix is one of the areas where it is taking between 6months to a year to get your citizenship process completed.

Good luck to everyone.

Phoenix Process Time

Dear SR57,

Congratulations! And thank you for sharing the information. I've recently submitted my N-400 from Gilbert, AZ, which fall in the Phoenix process process center. Would you please kindly help me understand the followings?

1) According to the USCIS website as of Feb 17th, 06, they're processing N-400 application with receipt notice date of Feb 28th, 05. What does this really mean? Are they now interviewing the applicants whoes priority dates are on or around Feb 17, 05?

2) Do you know any reason for the delay for Phoenix in processing N-400? Compared to other cities in the same distric office (California Service Center), Phoenix takes the longest process time. The average process time for California Service Center is around 230 days. And the Phoenix is about 120 days behind that.

Thank you for your comments in advance.

Our understanding is that the processing time gives us an idea as to where the district office is regarding the N-400 applications. Phoenix is one of the areas in the country where the processing time is longer than the average which is about 6 months.

My husband and I became citizens this morning. The ceremony lasted less than an hour and was lovely.

Good luck and best wishes to everyone.
