Citizenship journey thus far

After a really looong time, visiting here. Thought of posting regarding Citizenship process for me thus far. Dates are rough here..

Talked to ourselves a lot and finally decided to apply for US citizenship.

1. August 1st week 2011 - N-400 mailed
2. August Last week 2011 - Fingerprinting appointment (both me and spouse)
3. Sept 1st week 2011 - Interview letter received
4. October 1st week 2011 - Interview in San Jose (both of us) - Officers were really nice, appeared to be more routine type work. 6 questions on Civics 100%, English was no issues, Review of form appeared to be a breeze - In and out in 20 mins. Approval recommended. I was little stressed. Thanked the officer for keeping it easy.
5. Waiting for the real/final approval and the subsequent steps. Not sure how long it takes to get the Oath letter and Oath etc., but hoping it comes through soon.

Will post further in case of anything happening out of ordinary.

Hoping the agony of waiting in some or other type of immigration process (H1 approvals, EADs, GCs and now Citizenship), not just ends for me but for many other millions. Wish the world was free of barriers :)

Cheers

Update on my case

October 13th, 11 - Just got emails regarding the Oath ceremony. Destination seems to be closer now.

Received Oath Ceremony letter

That seems to be not a bad speed for this process. Got the ceremony letter today for October 27th. Net Net about 3 months end to end for the journey.

Congratulations!

My FP was done on 10/03 and no update so far on my case. I got struck in namecheck process during GC. I was wondering whether I am going thru the same NC process again now. Looking at your case, it gives me a little hope!

Thankfully nothing of that sort happened this time around. It all happened so quickly, I am still digesting the fact that I need to attend Oath next week. My two cents would be to not worry about the process, focus on your work and daily life and don't go to uscis site 10 times a day to check, it will come, if you are destined to get it. :)

Cheers
