I am expecting to get IL very shortly. However my passport got water damaged ( I accidently left in my trosuers pocket and put trouser for washing). I dont expect to travel till my naturalization process is over. I can get a duplicate passport but was wondering if anyone can comment on if I go for interview with a water damaged passport will it be an issue?

Your national passport is not required to be able to naturalize. You can take the damaged one to the interview just in case and only if asked, show them and explain why its damaged.
It is very funny though ... you really want to get rid of your current nationality aren't you?
