 I got married to a citizen husband who lived in Florida. When I came to USA from Pakistan, they treated me really bad. I couldn't find where to go, then, i found out i have far relative lives in California, so i moved there. That's where i am right now. My husband is a gay person, i found that out when i moved to florida. I applied for a I-485 in October 18, 2003. But they still haven't processed my paperwork. I dont even have a work permit or social security so i can work. What can i do to get a social security or work permit?

you can apply for a work permit, enclose a copy of your I-485 notice of receipt. When you get your work permit, you will get your SSN.

do you actually know that your case hasn't been processed? you live in CA, not in FL anymore, so maybe you missed a letter that your case has been abandoned? or you were invited to an interview and didn't go, so your case is abandoned now? in any case, you don't live with your husband, so most likely you won't get your GC
