Hello,

For my mother who is retired.
She got her greencard in 2015 Jan.
Till 2020, she always stayed within US more than 6 months in every year.
But in 2020, she went to India in Feb 2020 and was stuck in India because of Covid travel restrictions. There were no flights available to come back to US and hence was stuck in India for 11 months.
She came back to US in Dec 2020 and now we are applying for her citizenship.

So obviously she broke the 5 year continuous residence rules of citizenship. But it was also due to the extraordinary circumstances of Covid travel ban.

Any idea how her citizenship application will be treated. The N400 online form has a place where we can attach additional documentation. So I am planning to add some documentation on the Covid travel ban etc.

Thanks

I would do the same. A worldwide pandemic with lockdowns and flight restrictions is more than a reasonable excuse. I hope it’s considered.
