Citizenship eligibility

I have a citizenship eligibility question. June 29th this year is my 5-year PR anniversary. I have always lived in the same city since I became a PR. In the last 5 years, I have only been gone from the U.S. for less than 3 months total. If I leave the U.S. on June 20th and come back on July 20th, may I apply for citizenship right away or do I have to wait until October 20th? Thanks for your input?

If you've already satisfied the 3 month state/district residence requirement, and then you travel abroad and return to the same state/district, you'll still have satisfied the requirement without having to wait for any time after you return (as long as the time abroad isn't so long that it breaks continuous residence).

So you can apply immediately as you return to the US. You can even apply while you're abroad, as long as you return in time for fingerprinting.

If June 29th is the date on your PR card, then you can apply after March 29. Just make sure you are here for fingerprinting and the interview. Let them know of any trips since you applied, during the interview

90 days before June 29 is March 31, not March 29.

Given the trip from June 20th to July 20th, timing the application to apply before the trip and avoid missing either fingerprinting or the interview would be difficult. Applying before mid-May risks the interview date conflicting with the trip. Applying after mid-May runs the risk of missing the fingerprinting.

Technically you are correct. I didnt calculate my exact date, but left a 10 day gap just to be sure
