Citizenship eligibility and 6 months rule !

Hi,

My wife and I got our GC's in May '04 and I'm planning to apply for our US citizenship come Jan '09. My wife had to stay abroad, outside the US from dec '04 thru july '05 as she became pregnant and could not travel immediately to the States. will she be found ineligible for citizenship if I apply now or should I wait for some more time ?

If you've been an LPR since May 04, you can apply up to 90 days before your 5th year GC anniversary which would be Feb 09.
Since your wife stayed abroad for over 6 months she will have to provide evidence of her continued US residential ties, such as US rent/mortgage, US tax receipts, and child's birth certificate, and evidence you remained in US during the time.
