Citizenship and Kids

I am applying for US citizenship. Me and my wife are both on GC. We have 2 kids. The elder one is with us but the younger one is currently with his grand parents and not in this country. This is only temporary and he will be back here in 2 months. Here is my question: should I indicate both my sons are living with us as our younger one is only there temporaririly like an extended vacation? If my interview/oath is scheduled before he gets back would that be any problem? Do they ask for any details or check kids passports?

When you and your wife acquire US citizenship

1) Kids automatically becomes US citizen - no matter what
also
in some countries like India - the kids automatically looses Indian citizenship (minor)

No matter what is a bit too much. The kids must be residing with you in your custody and have green cards. However an extended vacation is not a problem.

Yes, you should indicate that both of them live with you. Unless your idea of an "extended vacation" is something like a year or more and he's even attending school overseas.

Both my kids are already US citizens by birth. I am just wondering if there will be any questions in the interview/oath on where the kids are and if they want to check thier passports.

The main reason why they ask about whether your children are living with you is to check whether you've been paying child support if they're not living with you.

But you're still married, so they're less likely to care about that or do any further checks.
