Citizen...now what?

I was an asylee, LPR. I got my citizenship last month. Now what is expected, can I travel to COP as an American?

I would not be traveling to trouble areas, but can that be a red flag later on?

Thanks

MrSingh

It would have been a problem in the Citizenship interview, but you already have it. You are done with USCIS my friend. No problem , stay safe when you go.

No problem what so ever as far as immigrational issues. Just avoid trouble areas for your safety that's all.
Atique.

My interview went pretty smooth. I had actually traveled to COP 3 times on green card and that was a cause of concern.

The visits were emergency in nature and lasted a few days each.

IO only went thru the application and asked a few questions about spouse. She asked why I traveled to COP, to which I replied visit my mother.

The whole thing lasted about 15 minutes. In the end she said would you like to be swoon in today!! :)

I took oath the same day later.

Thanks

congratulation! can you share your experience of citizen interview! thank you very much!

Hi I'm in the same boat as you. I too just got my citizenship. Last week.
I have never left the United States for the past 10 years, even when my father died, I never left the country.

But now can I go back to India as an American? Its for my brothers wedding.

I'm also curious to know if you have gone back to India since becoming American, and if so, what was it like, at the airport, immigration etc, while coming back to America.

congrats on becomming UC... regarding visiting your COP... life is not simple for Sikh asylum holders ... You will have trouble getting OCI.. PIO or even visa of your COP.... it has recently changed its rules to bar separatist Sikhs from returning to India... anyways good luck...
