CIS is determined not to give me a GC

I went with my family today for an interview to SJ field office, expecting approval and stamping. No luck. They found that my wife was missing TD vaccine. The doctor wrote "not available in US" on the paper, but the officer told us to go once more and submit the new medical form. If still not available, she said, the doctor should state that. Otherwise, everything else was OK.
She never looked at our wedding photos, nothing but EVL and passports. We gave our fingerprints and signed the paper for GC.

As one immigrationportal member said - INS beats to death. I just somehow hope we at least won't have to go wait at 5 AM in front of SJ office.

But they should've approved you -- why not ?
I mean if your wife is missing medical stuff, why should that prevent your GC ?

Yeah - you never know what these morons think at times ...
Where are you supposed to bring the new medical forms ? Back to SJC ?
Hopefully they'll approve you on the same day you give the new medicals.

Good luck - atleast you are almost done :)

Hard luck! :(

Have you received an appointment for next time? Or do you have to submit the paperwork by mail? Did you take your lawyer with you? And did you ask why your case was transfered?

Why dint they approve your case?

It sucks.
Are you dependent by any chance. Otherwise you should be approved. Its strange how CIS works.

This is unfortunate, ridiculous and just shows again the discretionary powers that individual officers have. My wife had the same situation - doctor wrote that there were no govt. supplies at the time on the medical. We never received even an RFE for that, or anything else. I sincerely hope this one last step will get you over the GC hurdle.

That's totally ridiculous!! However I am surprised the Dr. wasn't able to give your wife a TD vaccine. About 6 months ago I went and had my 10 year booster TD vaccine at the Public Health Clinic in SF.

I hope your case gets resolved soon. Good Luck

I am supposed to give the new medical exam papers to my lawyer, who'll file them to SJ office normally through mail.
My lawyer was with me at the interview and he told me that they have appointments for these kind of cases, whatever that means.

I called the doctor that did the medical and he told me that there was a shortage of TD vaccine at that time and that I should've gone somewhere before the interview (**thanks a lot doc**). Does anyone know if there's a place where my wife can do the TD vaccine quickly???

I asked why my case was transferred and she told me that the dates that I specified I was in the army do not match what they found out through background check. They found out that I was in "reserve readiness" from January to March 91, which I completely forgot to mention in the questionnaire, because I was never sent anywhere, I was a student at that time and that was just a minor nuisance because the war was far away. I explained and she was OK with that, she quickly went on to other papers. That part of interview lasted not more than 50 seconds.

Still why dint they atleast approve your case? I went for vaccinations at the El Camino Medical center in Mountain View, this was 2 years ago, so no idea if they have TD vaccination now.

Wow -- so they indeed do some background check and it even works !!!!

Am really surprised that they did that :)
So they do real work sometimes, uh ?

Well, look at it this way, at least yours are going forward, although slowly and w/ obstacles. My I485 filed at the same day as yours, still waiting for that cursed 2nd FP notice. Nothing can be done if I wanted to.

leeee - you're 100% right. pinnacle_man's report shows that almost 50% of us are still not approved.
Luckily, both my wife and I have our APs in hands, so we can at least travel.

Im so sorry to hear this. Any doc can give Td vaccine. Make sure you update your immunization record with a stamp & signature from the doctor and then take this card to the immigration doc.

or Immigration doc himself can give Td vaccine.

Good Luck

ruxrux,

My collegue went for medical today, his labor recently approved, and he got the TD done. The phone number of the place is 408-923-0256, its at Jacson Ave, San Jose. Dont have exact details but I think you can use the phone #. Good luck.

1. You can go to any internal physician you can found in the phone book. The insurance won't cover the fee because your wife is adult. Call public health department see if they have any walk in.

RuxRux,

Somehow I had a feeling that you being from Croatia could mean that they look at your records during the Balkan war. Anyway, this means that the CIS did not punish you for your campaign. BTW i totally support you ( we are all here in the same boat), but I thought that you nagged those people too much.

Good luck!
