circumstance involving reinstatement

I am a graduate student whose papers are currently being reviewed for reinstatement. My status lapsed after my OPT and I enrolled in a second bachelor's program and applied for reinstatement in august. I received a reply last week from the vermont ctr requesting more information. Meanwhile, I continued to try and enter a master's program with the professor I wanted to study with. I recently have been offered a graduate assistant position in that university to work and get tuition in return, but my reinstatement obviously hasn't been approved yet. I'd like to know what moves I can make in these circumstances.

You can get a new I-20 from the new program, leave the country and obtain new (or use existing if valid) F1 visa and re-enter. You may withdraw the reinstatement application.

I suggest you start school but dont work, until your reinstatement comes through.
