CIC asking for proof of relationship with aunty

My friend applied a few months earlier for Immigration to Canada, he also has his aunt (mother's sister) who is a citizen of Canada living in Toronto. He showed her relationship in the application, now they are asking for some proof (documentary i guess).

Any suggestions what to provide them as a proof?

1) His Birth Certificate
2) Your Mothers Birth Certificate and Your Aunts Birth Certificate.

May be there is a shorter route...

Get affidavit made

If in India get an affidavit from court made by someone who is older than your mother/aunt (say by one of their older relatives)stating that she knew the grandparents and both these ppl are sisters born for the same parents.
It was used by my cousin and accepted by US Immigration. Canada will probably aceept it too.
