Yes, although in rare incidences, some officers or airline
personnels fail to recognize the stamp, and give PR persons
a hard time. There are a few posts in Ron board describing
that they were trapped in India because airport officers
did not know anything about the stamp and insisted seeing
the plastic cards. I think this is very rare.
You can use search functions to read the messages.

Theoritically, the stamp in passport is equivalent to green card and most of the times it is not an issue. My suggestion is to carry the I-485 approval notice along with the stamp till you get the actual card. I travelled twice on the stamp and idnt have a problem either time.

Congrats, Helper007. I assume you go to Santa Ana office for stamping, right? Did you give them the original approval notice or just courtesy approval notice? Thans for your reply.
