Ciba, Do you know if INS has set any dates for clarification for the 180 day rule. I read it in an article that it was due early June....

Hi,

On the site http://www.shusterman.com you can read the deposition of the attorney before the congress. You will see in there that the INS needed 2 years (and the threat of federal suits) to come up with regulations for implemeting a law related to nurses.

Hopefully things will move faster for AC21. The timeline also depends on which groups are supporting the 180 days aspect. It may not have too much support from the industry though ...

The above lines try to stay in reality. Personally I hope that regulations will come up by October, but there is no basis for this hope :-(

Good luck!

So was any field guidance issued last week? If they didn\'t include 180-day rule guidance, did they issue anything about H1B stuff?

helper, I have no idea. I\'ve read somewhere on Ron\'s board
where he once said that it took INS several years to come up
with guidelines for health care workers after congress passed
the laws.

In any event, if anything does happen, the news will be all
over the internet, and we will certainly know it. Let\'s
just wait.
