Hi,
We have been hearing that the CIA check is back and that the INS might be doing that (Nobody is very sure yet since there are lots of cases that are getting adjudicated quickly while others are waiting).
Does anybody know if the CIA Check is the final stage (meaning all processing is complete before requesting a CIA check) or if the application processing happens only after the CIA check is complete?

Not sure when and why CIA check kicks in

My ND/RD is 8/00, EB2 India. My case went on hold for 60 days for CIA name check after newark interview last month. 2 days ago I saw a posting by "vsctemp" who got approved the same day after interview at newark. It seems that even newark local office is not putting all the cases on CIA name check hold. So, some cases are going on CIA hold, while others are getting direct approval. The irony is that why the CIA hold is introduced in later stages of processing when the case is ready for adjudication. This could have been done in the first 6 months of 485 filing :-(
