A Chinese guy was detained this June at the green card interview in NYC and deported to China. He is from Fujian and lost his asylum appeals a few years ago. Then he married a US citizen. His wife is now 8 months pregnant. The interview officer said their marriage is not real. Some lawyers commented that his lawyer gave the IO the passport. It just made the deportation easier and quicker.

Can you cite or link to a source? Not because I do not believe you but because some people want to see proof.

What happened to this person happens in immigration office around the country all the time.

It's reported in the local news in World Journal, a Chinese newspaper, on June 12 2008 (can't remember the exact date). I don't know if it has an English version. I think it's true as the couple's photos are in the papers.
