Asylum requires you to articulate a story about fears of persecution--usually based on events that happened in the past.
It is almost a slam dunk if you are Tibetan.
If you are a Han Chinese you have a reasonably high chance.
About 50% of Chinese asylum cases are ultimately approved-one of the highest approval rates out there. This is a reflection of the extreme brutality of the Beijing government and the consequent suffering of the Chinese people.
