Hi. If I got a green card through the dv lottery. My wife and my under 21 kids will get a green card. What happens when my kids turn 21? Will their green card be valid ?

It will be valid, however if under 14 and no fingerprints were taken at CP/AoS/PoE, they will have to renew the card within a month after turning 14. (fee is ~$80 as of now, if late than a month you will end up paying ~$350!)

Funny thing is although this REQUIREMENT is there, the USCIS still issues the kids GC s valid for 10 yrs with no apparent indication of the 14 yr reqmt!!

Furthermore, they will have to register for 'selective service' (military draft) as soon as turning 18!

PS: For that matter anyone who become a PR between 18-26 MUST register for the selctive svc. If not it will come back to haunt you at citizenship app. and also if applying for fed. tuition grants for college etc.
