Child Neglect

The child was unsupervised for 20 min. The parent called the police . They came to check on everybody and they found no crime . They Just asked me if I am OK and then I gave up my statement to them . They did not arrest me I did not go to court . They just told me to write down what happened and that’s it.
Later on this CPS charged me for child neglect but they told me it would not affect your citizenship because it’s not criminal . The case is closed. CPS mentioned that they will keep it with them and it will not be disclosed to others . Therefore I found a job working with children regardless.
My worry now is that I i’m scared to be in trouble if I said No to the question “have you been arrested and detained or cited?”
When the police asked me my statement when I finished I left home does that mean detained and I have to tell them the day of the interview even though i already answered no in my application????
I don’t have any courts chargers or police records that I can give them because the police did not charge me so please help me.

i maybe wrong but my understanding is that the only time a suspect is detained at home when the police has a lawful warrant to enter and search the premises. If the police enter without a warrant and you let them in voluntaril, they have no legal right to be on your property and you can ask them to leave and terminate the encounter at any time, so it’s not detention. Obviously, you are on your property so you dont have to ”leave”. If you were not cited, then you can say NO to that question. But there is another question I believe, where they ask you if you have been charged with a crime. You may have to say YES to that and get some documentation from CPS like a rap sheet that you were never convicted.
