Child Born during the Process of N-400

See I am starting to be paranoid. I am telling you. I am so nervous I forget something.

I applied in September/October. My Daughter was born in December so she is not on my N-400 File. Do I need to bring her Birthcertificate and SSC to prove she is mine or does it matter ?
 
Was the child born in the US? If yes, the child is automatically a citizen and the only thing you have to do is tell the interviewer that you had a child born since filing the N-400. You can bring the birth certificate, but I don't think they'll ask for it.

Of course, at some point before you travel you should apply for a US passport for the child.
 
Since the N-400 asks the applicant about children and the information you have provided needs to be updated since it is outdated, you will need to inform the IO at the interview. From the N-400 Instructions:
Part 9. Information About Your Children.
A. Write the total number of sons and daughters you have had. Count all of your children, regardless of whether they are:
- Alive, Missing or Dead;
- Born in other countries or in the United States;
- Under 18 years old or adults;
- Married or unmarried;
- Living with you or elsewhere;
- Stepsons or stepdaughters or legally adopted; or
- Born when you were not married.

The Birth Certificate would be helpful (it may delay the processing of your application if you do not provide it at the Interview). The N-400 Form does not list the children's SSN so it does not seem their SS Card would be required.

Thank you for the Info. I already have her Birthcertificate in the Folder with other Papers I was planning on bringing with. She was born in the US so if I bring it and show it to them there should be no delay, if I don't bring it they probably need it and then there is a delay did I understand that correctly ?
 
I wonder

I wonder if you should go out of the way and mention about your kid who was born while your N-400 application was still pending or only tell the IO if he or she asks about the children.
 
Well I want to be honest. You know and I don't think it matters. I mean I prove she is mine. I have her Birthcertificate and I don't think a child added to my N-400 makes any difference on my Background Check or any other checks right ?
 
IIRC you don't need to provide a birth certificate for any of your children when you first apply, so why would you need one now? When the IO asks about children, simply say you now have a new child and provide the relevant details.

My wife gave birth between interview & oath. It wasn't a problem with USCIS.
