I found that on INS website and a week later the notice was send to me.

I'm sure my lawyer didn't one so I faxed him a copy.

how's your case? any dates can share with us?

Speed up Processing .......

I think this doesn't holds True for Chicago Cases :(

Its good for other service Centers, for which we see
1 or 2 approvals once every 10 days, but for Chicago
Transfer Cases, i haven't seen anything since last
4 months, only Transfer Notices.

BTW my Details are:

RD: 07/01
ND: 09/01
FP: 12/01
TD: 09/02

No news so far, even contacting Congressman is not
helping

Keep this Thread alive guys ..

Hope God helps all Chicago Sufferers !!!!

Has anyone here or anyone you know got an interview with Chicago office? Please post your information. We need some hope here.

WAITING AFTER INTERVIEW

RECEIPT DATE: JUNE 18, 2001

WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME

Thanx for making this thread alive

Question for WAMU, when was your case Transferred to
Local INS, and did you ever contacted Congressman ??

Its really Hard to believe that how some Service Centres
are quick in making Decision, i guess they also have to
go through same procedure, performing background
checks and what extra Bit Chicago office is doing
which is making them take longer to make decision

Chicago Transfer Details

My Wife's RD: Jan 2001
Transferred: Jan 2002
Interview Completed: Jan 2003

Officer issued RFE after interview asking for original of non-availability certificate (she did not like the fact that we showed her the photocopy).

No response from Chicago INS as of March 8th.

Applied for EAD 3rd EAD renewal, will apply for 3rd AP soon.

Chicago Transfer, Need help

Hi,
Our 485 case got transferred to Chicago INS from NSC. But I never lived in Chicago or even in Illinios. I live in Indianapolis city which has got its own INS center. I don't know why my case got transferred to Chicago instead of Indianapolis. Is this a mistake by IIO. Does anybody have information on what to do? Will Chicago process other area's application???
I called Chicago and learnt that my application has been sent to appointment scheduling last week. And they said it may take 6 to 12 weeks. What is appointment scheduling???
Please help me by throwing some light.

Thanks.

Question for GCSA

What number did you call to find out your status at
Chicago Office ??

I'm not sure, but it might be for Interview Scheduling,
coz everytime its New Terminology we hear from
different sources.

I know this coz Congressman helping me with finding
out status got this Feedback in Oct'2002 that My Case,
and my wife's Case is in the STAGING Area, which
according to her meant that it was waiting for the
Interview to be scheduled, but since then i haven't
heard anything ...

Hopefully people who have been interviewed can
shed some light as to what do they mean by
this !!

Thanx gcsa

I tried calling that Number and it goes to the General
MailBox !!!

Do they really tell you about the Status of your Case, coz
i heard that you have to send a written query and they
will respond to it within 90 Days !!

Question for GCSA

Hi gcsa,

I Tried calling that number, but it goes to generic
MailBox !!

Is there any extension i have to Press ?

Thanks

IJ

IJ

Sorry for the late reply IJ. I called 312-385-1500 then pressed 3 and again 0. First time, I was told that they won't tell the status over the phone any more and will have to request thru mail. Again I called and said my case was wrongly transfered to Chicago instead of Indianpolis INS. Then she checked my status and said my case was sent for appointment scheduling (I didn't ask her what does it mean that time).
But most of the time, if someone calls, it directely goes to the message box. It is rarely that someone answers the phone.

Chicago Processing Time ...

Thanks GCSA !!

I got a feedback from the Congressman that
Chicago Office is processing April'01 cases,
and same feedback i got from my Attorney,
but it totally contradicts the processing time
chiwaiter received from Local INS (they are
processing cases received before Mar'01)

Don't know what is the truth ??

ITS RIGHTLY SAID, GC is like a Lottery, whosoever
is lucky will get it without any Problems !!

Hi,

I have a quick question regarding the chicago transfer. Could you please tell me whether the Service Center transferred applications to the local district centers were processed separately or not.

I was going through INS Website and came to know
that Chicago office also serves some counties of Indiana:

The Chicago Office serves the state of Illinois and the following counties in Northwest Indiana: Lake, Porter, LaPorte and St. Joseph

IJ

IJ, thanks for that info. I also saw that. But I havn't lived in any of those counties. I live exactely in Indianapolis city which is in central Indiana and is no where nearer to Chicago. My only concern is if my case is processed in Chicago it would take atleast 17 months for approval whereas in Indianapolis it is only 7 months.

WAMU - request for you

could you email me at vinay999@aol.com when you hear anything from INS.

My wife and I had a Chicago interview on Jan 7th and no news yet.

I'd be interested to know who your interviewing officer was.

thank you.

My wife's case got transfered on 6/17/2002 to Chicago local office. Still waiting for interview ...

We also sent in the applications for renewal of her EAD/Advance Parole end of Feb this year (lawyer said we need to apply to local office now that they have her files). Still waiting for receipt ...

I would be lying if I say I don't care anymore but seriously the way things are going at the local office is utterly ridiculous and no use worrying about it every day
