Chicago IL.... N400 posiblity to expedite???

After (only:) ) 20yrs in US, I am finally able to apply for my citizenship in April 2010.

Does anyone know how long will it take for the application to be processed and to receive the citizenship (Chicago IL)?
From what I read it takes approximately 6mo for the entire process :(

Is there a possibility to expedite the process and is it worth hiring a lawyer to do this - can a lawyer expedite it at all?

I have a US Refugee Travel Document, am I allowed to travel with it while waiting for the citizenship papers?


I am very thankful for your replies and any suggestions.
 
Chicoga is fast. Many reported finishing the whole process within 3 months. But you can not exedite it. A lawyer does not help it either.

Yes just don't spend too much outside to bring down physical presence and conti res.

Also don't use US Refugee Travel Document to areas against which refuge is provided.
 
My entire application took 5 months (that is because I asked for name change). My girlfriend and her sister's timeline was less than 4 months.
