Hello everybody!
Interview time was 11.15. Of course we got there earlier...anyway it was around 11.00 am, when we were on that "fomous 23'd" floor and some lady called my name. She took me on the side (???) just like "come on I've got to talk with you" ... and she is asking me if my husband came with me..she didn't see him (he just went to the restroom). She is starting: "I know your interview is at 11.15 but I have very difficult and complicated case now and it's going to take more time...and that case is before yours, and your case is simple, so could you come back later"? What time? "2.00pm- she said- you can go to Millenium Park or for lunch....don't go to the 2nd floor just come here."
What could I say, of course I'm going to be at 2pm... I really freak-out! She's telling me my case is so simple...and on the other site I never heard that imm. officer is actually asking you to come back later.
Now: a little background about me. Sorry
but I think it's important.
I met him in 2001. Went to UIC (ESL) for 2 semesters,(that was my real goal to attend ESL but I didn't know about F1 visa).
Meanwhile changed the status (B2-F1).
Exactly one year after that, came back to my country to get my degree (BTW he traveled with me and stayed for 6 weeks).
Then 8 months later (06/2003) I came back to US. That time I came on F1, although my B2 expires at 2007. I was going to transfer/or continue my architecture. I had money from my parents to pay for that international study.
I was supposed to show up at school in Aug'03. I never did that. I was just sick of school...5 days after my final exam, back in my country, I took the plane, to be finally with him, after 8 months of studing only!....just to finish my school as fast as possible! (when we're far away from each other we realised that is the thing!).
I said to myslef no! Finito! I'm done. No more school! I want to start my life with him.
That money which I could spend for school, we used to buy condo. So since Dec 03 we were living together. We got married in Apr/04. I filed my papers in Aug 2005.
Belive me, I did my homework very well if it goes about the papers. (At this point BIG THANKS TO THIS FORUM!)
OK....so we got there on that 23'd floor at 1.45. I belive it was 10 min when that lady came to the waiting room, start talking with some other petitioner... I caught her eye-contact...she showed her hand and me and my husband we were just jogging behind her- that's how fast she walked! OMG! I was shocked!
Guys! I'm not kidding! That women was so fast! Like a machine! Her body language, the way of speaking not to mention how extreamly fast she was skipping the pages of doc. which I filed to CIS! OMG! It's even funny! She looked like after something! Everything was so fast that ...OMG! In hurry searching some papers she asked for passports, ID's, at the same moment she also wanted to see oryginal marriage cert., my husb natur. cet, both birth cert. ....that was like: I'm taking paper out she's taking quick look and the next one...OMG! and my hubby was that one who was just trying to collect everything.
OOO! and these questions fromI485...blabla...extremly fast...I wish somebody was the witness! Comedy! or tradegy! I do not know!
Next: what did you bring to me today? sh...it I had 2 huge folders of papers - HEAVY!!!! not including photos, mail and less important stuff ...
so I started to give her this and that...and it looked like kind of super fast delivery to the store...and the next one, and the next ...bind it and the next!
I gave her our condo purchase papers, 2 bank accounts, health ins., life ins, vehicle title, personal loan....and when she was taking everything from me meanwhile she asked my hubby where he works...then o! so you are married more then 2 years ...what did you do for your 2nd anniversary? Nothing... she respond: bad husbnad
Everything till that moment took maybe 5 minutes! still I'm not kidding!
when I was about to continue with showing the doc she said it's fine "I don't want to my/your file to be too big. do you have some pics...she took very quick look ...she took two...maybe 4 pics and ...
she said today I'm not able to aprove your case because the report says you drop off the school...the decision is going to be mailed to you in 2-3 weeks...
...and she also informed me she is taking my I-94 and my EAD...
hmmmm......
so now I'm thinking would be better to come on B2 (as a tourist) and just over stayed my visa...
I didn't have any chance to say anything ....that was BOOM! give the paper and the next one ..
she was nice, the atmosphere was nice, she even asked for our birth dates in our native language.... (that was like a snap...but the nice one) ...
she didn't stamp my passport ...she wrote sth on my F1 visa ...I don't know what ...too much difficult to recognize ...
super fast, I would say very easy-going but what to think ?
that interview took less than 10 min ....I wish I had a timer
Please tell me waht do you think at some point I think it's ok but....
I really need your opinions...
I'm so tired ...so much time for so few minutes ...
