Hi all,

I am a new member, I would appreciate some insight into my dilemma.

I am getting married to US citizen next week and would like to apply for my Adjustment of Status.

Could anybody please tell me how long it would take before chicago local office can send me a reciept notice that they recieved my application and how long it would take for me to get my EAD?

I-485 Chicago Office

My husband and I married in the U.S. in August 2002, after which time I filed my I-485 for permanent residency, EAD and AP applications. My receipt date was 8/26/02. My AP was issued at the beginning of October and my EAD at the end. I was fingerprinted at the beginning of December 2002, and interviewed about mid-month. Since then I have heard nothing. They say that I-485 processing can take up to 17 months in Chicago right now. Hope this helps:)
