i sent my application fee + fingerprinting fee to : "US department of justice,INS"


now im thinking i should have wrote Department of Hoomeland Security,USCIS.

do you think/know whether this will be a problem?

cause only now i saw that INS changed to USCIS, and Dep. of Justice to Dep. of Homeland Security.

hope your check will be cleared. i know from USCIS website, they would accept the check if it was made to the old name prior a specific date. however, i am not sure if they would still take it after the "cut off" date.

sorry.. i wish i could have some answers for you. when did you mail out the application form? usually they would cash your check within 1-2 weeks after they received the application form. may be you want to wait and see.

delay or not.. i am not too sure. if they determine your check is not acceptable (bc of different payable name), you should (<-- i am not too sure too!) receive your application and check back. determining how soon they mail back to you, that would be how many days delaying in your application (basically, your apps could be just rejected)

again, those are my "guess".

i cant believe i was so dumb as to write INS instead of USCIS....

i just hope this won't delay me too much.
