Hi to all the CP Gods -
I am doing my CP with my wife on Mar 20 in Chennai and after reading all
the discussions, I wanted to clarify/confirm a few things,
1) The current job I have is my second job. I have an experience letter
from the first (used in LC) and an employment letter from the second
stating an intention to continue employment. Do I need to get a diff
experience letter from my current boss ?
2.1) Since I filed taxes electronically for 98, 99 and 00, I just took POs
of the PDF files I have from \'Turbo Tax on the Web\'. Is this sufficient
or do I need tax transcripts ?
2.2) If I need tax transcripts, do I need them from my state also (CA) ?
3) Do I need a \'sailing permit\' at all ? If so, where do I get it ?
I live in Sunnyvale, CA, so could I get this in the San Jose IRS
office ? Or an phone numbers will be helpful.
4) I have the last 3 months bank statements, Do I need to get a letter
from the bank as well. Presently my wife\'s I-134 states only my salary
as the basis for my supporting her. My lawyer says that this is more
than enough (and I dont have to state bank balances).
5) Do I need to get our passports changed to indicate the \'married\' status
or any changes like that ? She is using her maiden name to apply for GC.
6) I got PCCs from Indian consulate, SF for me and my wife. But my wife
actually got her passport 4 months ago (a month before our marriage,
and a month an a half before she entered the US). Since she has been
in the US for such a short time, should I get a PCC for local passport
office also (the local police station not reqd as passport is recent) ?
My wife just left for the US a couple of days ago and so she has time
to get this, but it would still be painful as it involves traveling.
7) Finally, do I need to get a draft for Blue Dart or is cash enough here ?
If so, how much ? Someone mentioned Rs. 350. Just wanted to confirm.
Thanx in advance,
- ckmon
