Checking FP with FBI

Hi,

I have a question.
I checked with FBI today for the FP status. They told me that they can only tell me the FP has been sent to INS on the same day that I took the FP. However, they cannot tell me if the FP is okay or not.

Does anybody have the same experience? Can I assume the FP is okay?

What the FBI sent to INS: the criminal background check report, not FP itself.

So, are your FP okay?

FBI cannot tell you if they found your blemishes or not.

I just had my FP taken. I see people saying that they checked with FBI to see if it has been sent to INS or not.

What phone number are you guys calling?
Is it the local FBI office or a national number designed for INS FP?
Where did you get this Phone number from?

Based on Ciba\'s web site, it looks like people are getting their GC about 2 months after FP is done. Is this for real or did I miss something?

Once FBI said "has been sent back to INS", it means your FP has been qualified by FBI.
If your FP is not acceptable, FBI cannot sent anything (other than the rejection) to INS.

Do we need to call INS once FBI says report has been sent to INS ??

Wait, that\'s it.

Yes, you can call CSC IIO to make sure they did receive your FP result.
But you cannot do anything even if they say FP not received.

It seems hardly heard that anyone\'s FP result was lost in the FBI-to-INS transfer.

I had done my FP on 3/24. I called FBI on 3/27 and was told that they have sent the FP to INS on 3/25

I called the AVM last night and got a automated message which said my I-485 was submitted on such and such day etc.

No mention was made that they received the FP.

Does the AVM update o reflect that they receive FP ?

I think CSC should update the AVM message about FP status change
lest so many people call and bother IIOs :)

But unfortunately, AVM won\'t reflect the status about FP.

As I know, AVM is updated only when any of following things happened:

    1. RFE issued
   2. RFE response received
   3. Case approved
   4. Case transferred to local INS
   5. The plastic GC is ordered and about to send out
   6. Case rejected (??)
