This is the e-mail I've got yesterday afternoon when I found out that I had LUD as of 06-30-05. I couldn't believe my eyes. After my last address change in Jan-2004 (AR-11 and phone confirmation), FP notice in 05-04 and RIE of two days ago (all of which arrived on my new address) it just didn't make any sense. I just called NCS and spoke with an officer who reasured me and told me to disregard this e-mail, he didn't have a clue why I received it and the last thing they have sent to me was RIE, so there is no problem with my address. That was a long night for me.
If someone else gets the same e-mail as I did, just disregard it, or if you want to have peace fo mind call the NSC. Again, one of those sick jokes from USCIS.

What is LUD?

No, I moved last time in January of 2004, I filled AR-11 and also, reported change of address on the phone to National Service Center. After my last address change, I received FP and RIE notification to the same address.
LUD-last updated date (when online status of your case changes, it means somebody is looking into your case and you know the date when it hapened).

One of the explanation of this is your lawyer has moved to a new address, I have the same experience before. If your lawyer moved to a new address after he filed your case, and this will likely happen.

I don't think those NCS people know anything about your situation unless the one you talked to is an IIO. So in my opinion, don't ignore anything until you know what exactly it is.

Yes, my attorney did move into a new office after helping me out with I-485 back in 2001. I'll try to get to the bottom of this, thank you for your reply I do appreciate it, this makes sense. Do you remember when you've got your RIE did USCIS send one to your attorney too? Please can you write what hapened? Thanks.

I don't think I have any RIE so I cannot answer it for you.

My story is USCIS tried to send the official copy of my 485 approval notice to my attorney and it was returned as an undeliverable mail. Alought my attorney had sent mails (they won't update attorney's address via the phone) to USCIS to update his address so many times, for some unknown reason,USCIS just didn't update his record in my file.

So I suggest you to confirm this issue with your attorney and make sure he does update his record with USCIS.

Indusacan,

Yes, I am 110% sure in my case, after filing for I-485 back in 2001 my attorney (or should I say my ex-attorney) has moved to a different location without notifiing me. I did, however call USCIS on two occations and without mentioning this, asked for a possible reason why I've got that e-mail (undeliverable mail). Both times officers told me that my attorney's out of date address is the cause. So, to make long story short, I asked for his name to be removed of my file and switched back to my first attorney from Miami. At the end, everything worked just fine, I received yellow letter, complied with USCIS requests, they've got my response, no further questions asked. I hope this will help you, if you had similar experience, your best bet is call USCIS, and call them more than once.:)
