check status at TSC

I've tried to check my status on the phone at 1-800-375-5283
lately, but it said their computer system had shut down due to
temporary problems. It has lasted for almost a week. Does anyone
know what's going on?

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you get the same message as you will see when you use the case status online? I tried to use the automated message using the same number and it read me the same mesage and said any representative would not be able to give information more current that that.
 
Yes, I did. But it only shows the info of my inquiry last time (6 months ago),
there is none about my status. TSC is really slow updating on internet. I hoped
find someone at TSC to ask by dialing 800-375-5283 but I always ended up
at automatic message and this message wasn't delivered because of
the shutdown of their computer system.
 
This happened to me too. i was trying to place an inquiry. I ended up choosing the option to change address and got to talk to someone.
 
I've been waiting for a while too, basically already out of the projected
processing time. Last time, my laywer set a meeting with a TSC officer
discussing the 'old' cases like mine, the officer said they were waiting for
a response from FBI regarding the name check/background check. I checked
out the name check/background check only needed 45-90 days time
frame. Apparently, FBI slowed down this process for some reason. The CIS
and FBI didn't coorperate well. I was trying to send my concerns to FBI
by email & fax, guess if I am lucky enough, FBI would send me something
in a couple of months or longer or nothing would come back. wondering If
any of you figures out a way to push them (FBI) WORK faster.

I feel hopeless here.
 
For me, it kept telling me all day to call back mon-fi 8am-6pm....

It's monday, and I must have called a dozen times, each time between 8am and 6pm. Unless they mean the japanese time zone.

I had the same experience as yours - it doens't forward me to a rep - just keeps circling me back to the start of the menu at the point where I get to feel is the last selection for being able to talk to a rep.
 
I talked an officer at TSC this afternoon

I kept trying to dial that 1-800-375-5283 and ended up talking to a
representive and she transferred my call to an officer at TSC, this
officer gave me the following info about I485 status:

She said 1.) the general processing date now is up to Dec.2002.
2.) number of applicants from China, India and phillipine
are colossal and the processing date for the applicants
from these three countries is way benhind the date
(Dec.2002) they put on the website.
3.) the delay apparently is not just caused by name check.

So guys who are from these three countries filed their I485 a while back
and are still waiting may find a reason why you haven't received a
decision from TSC.

Ok, she seemed having a long talk with you. Did you question her why almost all of the people who filed in 2003 and 2004 getting approved? Why should they leave only 2002 cases (most of us actually got start in 2000)? See what they could say about that.

Yeah.. I did ask her why those cases behind me got approved and she
didn't answer my question and kept saying the cases from those three
countries are "aggressive". yeah.. that is the exact word she used. So
please call and send your concerns. It could push them to work faster.
