Hello,
I had my AOS interview on 4/13/2006. Our interview was at 2:15 pm. We reached 45 minutes earlier. 20 minutes after 2:15 pm we were called in for interview. When she called our name I had gone to restroom with my 2 1/2 year old. She made us take the pledge and asked us to sit down. She asked for my and my wife's drivers licence. She also asked for my H1B visa and son's birth certificate. She then asked my wife few questions about her naturalization and whether she was married earlier or had children earlier ( both answer - negative). She then pointed to our son and asked if he was our biological son -Yes.
She then asked me question pertaining to I-485. Which I answered them. Since I knew the answer were NO to all criminal activity related questions, I promptly answered them NO. SHe checked off all the questions. She then asked for W-2 and tax refund for last year which I promptly gave. She filed copies of the requested documents. She then made fill out I-864A (it was already filled & submitted as part of our application) since my wife (sponsor) is a Housewife.
She then asked for our marriage certificate, she pondered over it, looked at it carefully and did something on her computer. We have been married for 5 years. Not sure..
.
Then, she asked for documents to show that we lived together, I submitted our credit card statement, bank statements, utility bills etc. She promptly filed them away.
Then she then mentioned that she hasn't made decision on our case
. At this point we were stunned / nervous as we thought we would be approved (since it appeared to be a straight forward case). She mentioned that we would get the decision in mail. She then proceeded to ask us if we had any questions: I asked her if there was timeframe by which it would be approved but she wouldn't commit to an timeframe nor she would give anything more on what was the hold up (if they were waitingi for FBI back ground check or anything else). The whole interview was less then 25 - 30 minutes.
