Changing status from full-time to half-time on H-1B

Hi,

I am on an H-1B visa. Because of health reasons,
I have not been able to function as effectively
as before on my job, so my employer would like
to put me on half-time status. Can he do that
just using my current H-1B visa, so long as the
hourly rate remains the same, or does he have to
get a new H-1B visa for half-time status?

Generally should not be a problem. But if it is going to last longer (> 3 months) a H1 amendment should be done.
