Changing profession after greencard

Hello folks
Has anybody changed professions after GC?

Is it ok to work in a profession for which your GC labor was not filed with(Although it is in the same industry like going from a IT Tech consultant to an IT Recruiter/Account Manager)??

What would be its implications during citizenship??

SR MEMBERS OR THOSE WITH REAL TIME EXPERIENCE PLEASE ANSWER!!

There is no requirement that one work in the same field after a GC is granted; the only issue with switching after the GC relates to switching employers after the GC is granted and any questions of intent it may bring up.

If you are in the clear on that, whether you switch employers within the same field or a different field (or whether you work at all) is irrelevant.

I have switched employers 2 yrs after applying for I485 but did not inform gc sponsoring employer, I just got gc in June 2007 can I switch my employer or should I wait 1 year before I make the change.

Please note by switching employer I will be changing my profession also.
