Changing Jobs on EAD

Hello friends,

I have a few questions about changing jobs on EAD:

1) My I-485 has been pending for almost a year and I-140 got approved 8 mos ago. If I change my job, do I have to file anything with USCIS? I have been reading about filing AC21. Is there a special form for that?

2) If I am laid off now, what is my status? And for how long am I legal in this country?

I would really appreciate if you could share with me.
 
Same job "classification"

It seems that the requirement by USCIS is that of the same job classification and not the same position. So, if I am a SW Engineer and I join elsewhere as Senior SW Engineer (with a higher salary :) that should be fine. Right?
