Changing Job during I485 pending?

Hi Everyone:

I am facing a issue about changing job. Currently I am waiting for my 485 to be approved. I am currently under H1B. My 485 stamp date is 11/15/06, EB2, world. Texa center. Just applied I765 in April.

My situation now is I need to move to another city to be with my wife ASAP. I understand that 6 months after the I485 submitted and have the I765 approved, then I can change jobs.

My questions are:

1. when changing job, any issues or side effects it might cause? What I should pay attention to?
2. Am I allowed to quited the current job without getting a new one? Which means there will be a time gap between old and new job. I asked this to my attorney, he has no idea!!

-------------what is this "485 stamp date is 11/15/06"???? do you mean I-485 filing reciept date??/

-----------count 180 days from I-485 pendind date. join new employer with H1 transfer or with EAD (H1 transfer is better for you) new employer should be ready to give you permanent job offer letter with same/similar job to invoke AC21.
2. Am I allowed to quited the current job without getting a new one? Which means there will be a time gap between old and new job. I asked this to my attorney, he has no idea!!

Hi:

My I140 was approved on 12/20/06
I485 reciept date is 11/15/06
My H1B will expire on 5/31/08
I just submitted the I765 on 4/18/07, I have not gotten the EAD yet
My wife is also H1B and her I485 is with mine
