Changing Job After 180 Days Using EAD

Hello Gurus,

please help with my situation.
Applied for 485 more than 180 days. Got my EAD but not AP.
I am planning to change job as I got good offer.
Could anyone please let me know what are the consequences in doing so with my current employer and also with BCIS.
What steps do I need to take care before doing so?

Acording to my lawyer, there is nothing that you need to do immediately. Your new employer should be willing to provide USCIS with letter that proves a permanent job offer and other documents if (or rather when) RFE is issued. The job must be in the same field and preferrably to have the same duties.

Other lawyers recommend to notify USCIS immediately upon landing the new job. I am not sure how it's done though. Via case amendment may be?

However, if your present company makes you use their corporate lawyer or even worse if they are paying for that lawyer, then your situation may be quite tricky. You would have to find out how to either tranfer your case to a different lawyer or re-hire the current lawyer personally.
