I am here in US on an F2 visa and have been offered a postdoctoral research position with J1 visa. According to the University, I need to get the J1 visa stamped on my passport before I can start working.
Is going to Canada for that purpose a safe option? If the US consulate in Canada denies me the J1, can I re-enter US on my existing F2 visa [it is valid till 2010 with multiple entries].
What other options are there? Any information will be of great help.
