changing family name on SS and DL and how long did it take to approve reopen case.

So while we're on the topic of name changes...

When my husband and I filed our forms in May, I was under my maiden name. When we received the RFE, I had already changed my last name to his. I looked all over the website for information on what you should do if you have a name change and couldn't find anything. So I filled out the requested information using my new name. I attached a letter explaining that I changed my last name and included copies of my birth certificate, marriage license, new driver's license, and new social security card. I also tried calling their customer service and they said they couldn't tell me if it would cause a problem or not.

What do you think?

you should not worry about that, during the interview they will asked you if you want to keep your name or if you have already changed it and then you will say yes and they will update it for you automatically, and u're GC and EAD if not already issued will have the new name on it nd thay will also send you to get a ne SScard that does not have the restriction note on it.
