Changing Employer after Residency

My Friend got his eb based permanent residency in September 2010. He has been with the sponsor since then. Is it risky to change jobs now (after 6 months). Is the intent to work been established in the 6 months, or does he need to work longer?

What would be a good reason to change (other than pay..) such that it will not be a problem at the naturalization stage?
 
No reason is required for change and such a change will not be an issue for naturalization.Ask your friend to chill!
 
The issue is that he has worked with the employer for less than a year, when he got the residency. So in that case, is 6 months after the residency a safe time?
 
No amount of time is 100% safe because there is no law or court case that specifies a time limit. But so far, since AC21 there are no known cases of anybody being denied citizenship or losing their green card for leaving too soon after GC approval.
