Changing Employer after Approval

My I-485 was approved on Jun 14 2004. It was an AC-21 case. After my approval can I change my employer?. My current employer says I have to stay atleast for one year with them. Although I don't have plans to change the employer now, I am curious to know if this is true.

Can anyone clarify on this?

Thanks in advance

Its an open issue :)
Different people have varying opinions on this one.

Practically, its not wise to leave the employer right after you get the GC -- most people are comfortable leaving after 6mo atleast.

But yeah, a year would definitely be good enough. If you don't have issues, stay for atleast 6-9 months.

Search the forums for more info on this, this is a much discussed topic and you will see tons of threads out there that deal with this in detail.

Stick around for atleast six months. I agree with Max..

If you are a AC 21 case I also suggest you get a copy of AC21 documents
filed by your lawyer. i mean if you filed AC21 with USCIS.

Wait for 6 months and be on the safe side. I am sure that its okay to
change jobs right away and many of my friends did. But better to be
safe than sorry.

I had sent the letter to BCIS informing about the change of employer by myself. I had an employment letter from the current employer attached to this letter.I sent the after 3 months of changing the employer, and one month before approval.

Since there is no proof from BCIS about the receipt of letter from me , I am not sure if they have really updated their database. Moreover I did not receive any RFE.
Only my current employer has I-9 forms and I think they have sent to the BCIS. Does this prove change of employer as per AC21.?
