changing address for self and derivative cases

Has anyone tried to change the address for their I-485 (or another case type) and 1 or more derivative (wife & kids) cases at the same time?

If so, what happened to the LUD for those cases and did you receive a confirmation letter for each of the cases?

For me, my I-485 LUD changed about 27 days later (I'm assuming due to the address change) but those of my wife & kids didn't. Today (pretty much exactly 30 days after I called) I received a letter from the USCIS confirming the change of address for myself but nothing for the wife & kids.

Should the LUD have changed and should I have received confirmation letters for the other cases also?

If so, it sounds like I should contact them and try to change their addresses again...

LUD changed

Hi

I send fax to VSC about address change once for me...LUD changed on my case and I did the same for my wife two days later and LUD for all the case changed. But I did not get any letter from them.

That is exactly what happened for me. My LUD changed and I have recieved the confirmation letter. But, nothing happened on my wife's case. So, I called them up again after I recieved the conf letter for me. I was told that I cannot call on her behalf. So, I had my wife call them up to verify the current address on the file for her case. After that, the almost_no_brain_CIS sent her an AR-11 form without a confirmation of the change of address on her application. I will probably call them again in a few days when they return from bowling .. :D

Fax #

glrao,

could you tell the fax # where you sent the application ? USCIS website nor ETA-GC thread mentions anything about sending fax to USCIS. I changed the address through phone, would be nice if i could fax the address change too. Atleast that way it will be sure that they will change the address.

followup

FYI, from what I can tell, I seem to have managed to update the address for everyone (myself, wife 2 Canada-born kids).

I called them again around August 11th and explained that only my case had been updated earlier. The person I spoke with suggested that this was because the previous person had put all the change of address information on a single form so she did 4 separate ones this time. Yesterday (25/08/04) the LUDs changed for my wife and kids and I'm guessing that I'll get notices for them in the mail some time soon.

Also, as far as the fax number goes -- it sounds like there is none according to other threads on this.

Yes -- the status message for my wife and kids (see above) just changed to the exact same thing. This must be how they track whether address changes have been processed now. I was about to mention this here when I saw your message just now :).

Interestingly, when I changed my own address about one month earlier, the status message never changed (although I did receive written confirmation of the address change so I'm pretty sure it went through).

Too bad they can't put in a more descriptive message like "your request to change address was processed..." or something like that...

The reason I am asking you this Question is when I Changed my address my Wife was not there with me customer Rep. asked me that she should call them later ...later when she called they made all the address change but in end my wife also asked them to do address change for her I-765 case then customer rep. realised that she is the beneficiary and not the primary applicant they pulled up my case and linked all the case for the addresss change....hope this help.

Hmm, "linking" the accounts was never mentioned to me -- I'm not sure if they are already "linked"... Hopefully they'll realize that there are 3 derivative cases associated with mine when they process it (or vice versa)...
