Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

My current lease ends at the end of the month and I'll be moving to a new place. My interview is scheduled for January 10th, and depending on how quickly my oath letter arrives, this shouldn't be an issue. However, if it doesn't arrive in time, I will have left my current apartment. Can I simply inform the IO during my interview that I will have a new address from the 1st of February, and for them to forward any mail to my new address. Or do I have to fill out and file another form?

Changing Address Before Applying For Passport

Well, I had my interview today and I passed! I will be receiving my naturalization certificate next week. I want to apply for my passport on the same day, as I have a trip planned for February. My lease is ending at the end of this month, but my current address is the one I've used up until this point for the naturalization.

When applying for my passport, should I give my current address, or should I change it to my future one? It would seem to make sense to give my future address, but I don't want to cause any problems because I haven't filed an official change of address throughout my citizenship process (seeing as how I'm still currently living at my present address and my naturalization process is a week away from ending).

You need not worry about your address anymore. You can provide whatever address you like, but it really doesn't matter. For all they know, you could have moved between the interview and oath. You're going to pick up your passport anyway.

If you wait for them to send back your passport by mail, they'll send it to the address you specify and by then it might be too late for your February trip. So you'll need to apply for same-day/next-day passport service at a passport agency (with proof of your upcoming travel) where you can pick it up.

I will be applying for a passport the same day as my oath - January 17th. My trip is scheduled for February 10th. On the USCIS website it says that the trip must be within 2 weeks. I am still eligible to apply for same-day/next-day passport services?

Technically, no. But, if you're going to a country requiring a visa, then they will probably allow you in.

No, I'm just traveling to Canada. How are you able to pick up the passport rather than have it mailed? If I have that option it would make things go more quickly. I basically have 3 weeks to get my passport, so I'll bring my proof of travel and ask to have it expedited. Should that suffice?

Well, you can also get an appointment within 2 weeks of your travel and then they'll give it to you the same or next day. You will be asked to pick it up. That's how the passport office works.

Ok. That seems like the easiest way to do it then. Is there an extra fee for this type of service?

Witness for Passport?

This may seem like a stupid question, but do I need a witness when applying for my passport? I've scheduled an appointment with the regional office as I am traveling in less than 2 weeks, and I just want to make sure of one thing. I know in Canada when renewing your passport you have to have someone of a certain profession (who isn't a family member, friend, or boss) verify you are who you actually are. Will that apply for me in this case as well?

The part about the question that is stupid is that it is very easy to read the US Passport instruction on the website and see what the requirements are, so why ask here. The answer to your question is, no a professional witness is not required. But then again neither is one required for a Canadian passport anymore. I highly suggest you read the instructions so that you dont show up to your appointment unprepared.

I definitely have. I'm just nervous and going over any last minute stupid questions to calm me down. Thanks for the help.

No witness necessary. Just in case, though, I didn't sign the application until the officer accepting my application asked me to sign it, so I did it in front of him.
