Dear Stakeholders -
The USCIS International Operations Division and the Office of Public Engagement invite any interested parties to participate in a teleconference to discuss planned changes to the processing procedures for Refugee and Asylee Follow-to-Join cases on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 11:00am (EST).
USCIS and the Department of State (DOS) have jointly developed these new procedures to improve customer service for these important humanitarian cases. The new procedures will also help ensure greater consistency, efficiency and security.
USCIS and DOS will be piloting the improved process at five (5) locations overseas beginning in March 2011. The pilot locations will include Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Guatemala City, Guatemala; New Delhi, India; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Yaoundé, Cameroon.
During the session, USCIS will provide an overview of the new procedures, explain how the pilot will affect cases in the chosen locations, and seek feedback or answer questions from participants.
We anticipate having additional teleconference discussions after the pilot is launched. Once we have incorporated the lessons learned from the teleconferences and the pilot, USCIS and DOS intend to roll out the new procedures worldwide.
Please join us for the call to learn more details about this important change.
