Changes to personal information in NOA

If the date of birth information in your Notice of Action is incorrect, how difficult is it to get this changed? If you call the 1-800 number and report how soon will they make the correction?

Any ideas?

An incorrect date on NOA does not necessarily mean that USCIS has your date incorrect in their system. Send USCIS a letter informing them your DOB is incorrect on NOA. At interview, the IO will confirm your DOB on application as well.

Bobsmyth,

Thanks for your quick response. I made this silly mistake while filling the application and so the USCIS system will have the incorrect data. Can this cause any delay in processing the application?

It can since background check uses your DOB. Get that letter out to USCIS asap to avoid possible future delays.

Bobsmyth,

I will send that letter straight away. What are the odds they will correct this ASAP on receipt? I have also called the NSC (1-800) and informed them about this change.

Hope this gets resolved soon...

Once you inform them of the error they will correct it.

Bobsmyth,

I sent the letter by certified mail to USCIS office address on my I-797C NOA. I saw today that USPS attempted to deliver but could only leave a notice!!! The address is PO Box 648005, Lee's Summit, MO 64002.

Did I make a mistake by sending this through certified mail to a PO Box address?

Just now got delivery confirmation!

That's what happens when you send it to USCIS via USPS. It's normal. Check again tomorrow evening and it will show Delivered.
