AmericanGujju expressed his/her doubt:

a)may be out of sheer fun
b)pretension (I'm very sure, a false one at that)
c)sheer ignorance (being more of an american and less of a gujju as the name implies) of Indian names
d)or a sheer need of inivitation which u promptly complied with

Why???

Didn't I list 4 possibilities of what u said about Anita with no particular priority assigned. U could have choosen either one for ur reasons for asking for Anita's gender.

As a matter of fact, Vivek mentioned that people don't fake their sex here but still (before his mail) u doubted Anita's gender and that's why my mail after that. By saying Vivek's IQ as higher (which is under no doubts), u r not enhancing ur own EQ rather contradicting urself.
