I am waiting for 485 approval. I changed employer after 6 month of filing I-485. I have valid AP and EAD.

My new employer wants me to visit UK for business for four days next week. Do you think I should go ??

Is it risky ??? What document should I need to carry with me ??

I do not want to make a dumb decision, at the same time I need to secure my job.

Please help me guys. Thanks in advance.

RD 10/26/2001 FP 03/28/2002 EAD and AP approved sometime in Jan-Feb 2002.

You have a bona fide case, you're

condident in yourself, you carry a letter of employment in your pocket with a paystab or two and your EAD, you don't mamble and babble when an Immigration Officer start asking you tough questions at the Secondary Inspection Area - and you'll be fine.

Don't worry

Just go. Carry pay stub, job letter, business card, EAD and ofcourse AP.

relax buddy

Relax buddy and go. Take all the docs - employment letter, pay stubs, AP, EAD, PP etc.

And btw, have a safe trip. :).

need more help

Thanks Guys for your help. I have couple of more important questions. Please help me.

Question: 1

As I mentioned earlier that I changed the employer. What should I say about the "Sponsoring Employer" and how should I explain them about changing employers/AC-21 etc.

Question 2:

Also I did not get my renewed H-1 stamped, so I still have my I-94 attached to the H-1 document.

Now should I give this I-94 (which is valid till 2003) or the other one using which I entered (that is expired) last year.

Please guys help me with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Give both I-94's. The one on your passport and the one on the H1B renewal 2 part renewal. Preferably staple the H1B renewal onto the old renewal so both stay together.

The H1B renewal has two copies so keep the correct one with you. (see instructions)

Also, keep all photocopies for your record.

One question:

Did you inform INS about your job change per AC21. In case you did then your lawyer would have sent a letter. Take copy of the letter.

When you return the INS airport officer and show your AP you will go through a secondary inspection and the INS will ask you in a secondary inspection on who your sponsor is. Mention the name of the new company. In case there are more questions show the letter sent to the INS on Job change.

This is not legal advice but the most rational way to deal with your situation. In case you still are worried call a lawyer

Good luck!!!

Just back on AP

Just came back yesterday at Newark, NJ. I wasn't asked a SINGLE question. The first immigration inspector sent me to the second inspection. Second immigration officer asked my passport and AP and asked us to sit. Within 5-10 minutes came to us where we were sitting and said "you are done".

Life is cool with AP. Thanks friends for your help last week.
