I need help please.I'm here on a B1/B2 visa, I-94 stamped with no Eos or Cos. I understand that this means no change of status or extension of stay.
So does this mean that I DEFINITELY CANNOT change my status even if I get married to a US citizen?
Please your comments and advise are desperately needed as I do not want to be here illegally and I do not want to spend a long time away from my fiance while waiting for a visa.
Thanks for your advise in advance.

Better go out before expiry of this I 94.Try once again with B1 or B2 to enter.Do you know the reason on caveat "NO COS /EOS" on your I 94. I think POE suspected you.
But you hae many ways to get married to a USC and get your legal status

ok to change

inspector may have had his reasons to make this notation, however he does not have the authority to restrict any future COS. also there is nothing to forbid you from attempting to extend your B-2. just send a I-539 to the service center and see what happens. there is no harm. meanwhile, there is no prohibition on marriage and I-130/I-485. the letter you receive from the service center will buy you some time anyway-- it says "we received your application" but that will suffice for now. in the I-130 process, you may still be out of status for up to 180 days. how long this takes depends where you live.
