Change of status L1B to H1B question on start date

Hi,

I am currently on L1B from company A and company B applied for my H1B. I got the approval notice with new I-94 with valid from date 10/01/2005. I have a few doubts since I have to give 2 months notice to my current employer:

1. Does valid from date mean I need to join the Company B on 10/01/2005 or Do I have some grace period before I join the company B?

2. Can the date of joining the new company (Company B) be changed or valid from date on the I-94 be changed to a later date so that I can complete exit formalities with the current employer?

1) In case of COS, you have 60 days grace period. H1B gets valid
and you should start working within 60 days at company B.
